Hatch design is driven as much by contractor and tenant desires as it is by certification. In response, Norshield’s engineers have made continual modifications to design and operation of its hatch assembly. Anti-Terrorism Level Security – Norshield Hatches are designed and tested to conform to or exceed U.S. Department of State forced-entry/ballistic resistant threat levels for 60 minutes of forced entry and rifle ballistics
Design Flexibility – Fabricated to meet project requirements, Norshield Hatches fit rough openings as small as 25” x 36” or as large as 56” x 56”, providing emergency egress or secure access to roof areas and equipment
Ease of Operation – Stainless steel hinge, low maintenance zinc plated compression spring cylinders, and multiple locking points results in reliable long-term operation
Durability – Robust steel construction, hot dip galvanizing, insulated weather cover, high performance finish options and the highest quality hardware devices provide extreme durability and low maintenance throughout the life cycle of the assembly
