The Norshield story
We build our products like our lives depend on them.
Leading the industry for more than 40 years
Norshield Architectural Security Products is the world’s leading manufacturer of certified ballistic, attack and blast resistant doors, windows, wall systems and accessories. Since our beginning in 1981, Norshield has continued to be a trailblazer in security product innovation to meet the world’s growing force protection needs.
On November 4, 1979, Iranian militants stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and took approximately 70 Americans captive. This event, coupled with the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut that killed 63, solidified the threat that Americans and their allies face. In the shadow of these events, Norshield was established in 1981 to address the rising threat of global terrorism. Since that time, the force protection industry has matured, demanding increasingly higher levels of performance and aesthetics both domestically and around the world.
Headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, Norshield has an 11 acre campus with 100,000 square feet of manufacturing. With direct access to Interstate 1-85 and I-65, as well as East Coast and Gulf shipping ports, Norshield has established trucking and shipping relationships which allow us to consistently deliver our products anywhere in the world to meet or exceed our client’s expectations.
What we do here at Norshield takes a village….and luckily we have one. Our organization is made up of engineers, CAD operators, business professionals, project managers, welders and fabricators. Our employees not only understand how to coax glass, steel and aluminum into best-in-class security products—they understand people and how to listen and communicate effectively with all the different types they encounter.
Our strength is yours.
Protecting your interests is our only interest.
Norshield was established in 1981 to address the rising threat of global terrorism.
Since that time, the force protection industry has matured, demanding increasingly higher levels of performance and aesthetics.
By the time of the 2001 terror attacks on American soil, Norshield was steadfastly protecting American and foreign assets in over 140 countries. Our ballistic, blast, and forced entry doors and windows have changed the balance of security in federal facilities both domestic and abroad.
Recent attacks on civilian rather than governmental targets in America, Sudan, Egypt, Yemen, and others have shown a new direction, but continued resolve of terrorism.
